12,000 REMEMBRANCE WREATHS

 Jacksonville National Cemetery to Hold Wreaths-Across-America Day Ceremony

REMEMBER the Fallen / HONOR those who Serve / TEACH our children the value of Freedom

 North Jacksonville, Florida- Jacksonville National Cemetery (“JNC”) will hold the Wreaths-Across-America Ceremony at its hallowed grounds on Saturday December 14, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. to REMEMBER & HONOR our Veterans and their Families through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes. JNC is one of approximately 1,600 locations situated in all 50 U.S. states, at-sea and abroad participating in this Annual Community Event.

FAMILIES- For those Family Members or Associations who would like to place a wreath on their loved one’s gravesite they may pick up a small flag at the National Cemetery on December 12 and 13, 2019 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to place on the loved one’s gravesite in order to indicate that they will lay the wreath on the morning of December 14, 2019.

PARKING– Participants should arrive at the Cemetery before 10:00 a. m. General Parking is available at the Anheuser Busch Nutri-Turf Inc. facilities located at 16163 Lem Turner Road, Jacksonville FL 32218 (which is at the Lannie Road intersection). The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will provide a continuous shuttle service from Nutri-Turf’s General Parking Lot to-and-from the JNC. For those displaying a STICKER, there will be Handicapped Parking available within the National Cemetery grounds at 4083 Lannie Road on a first-come, first-served basis.

BACKGROUND– JNC which opened in 2009 and encompasses 526 acres currently has over 17,000 Veterans and Family Members interred in gravesites and columbarium niches. This national cemetery with its hallowed grounds is located in one of the most military-friendly regions in the U.S. The JNC Staff and its Support Committee continuously honor all Veterans and their Families, especially The Gold Star Families, whose beloved soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines gave their lives in the line-of-duty defending our great country so that we can live ours.
