The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise held its annual Tennis4Cancer Tournament at the Eagle Harbor Tennis Complex on Fleming Island from April 19 to 21.
Over 130 doubles teams competed in 4 different men’s and women’s divisions over the three days.
The Rotary Club, with help from the residents in Eagle Harbor, raised an estimated $60,000 from the event. 50% will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help patients – staying at the Hope Lodge at the Mayo Clinic – with transportation to the different Jacksonville area hospitals while receiving cancer treatments.
The Rotary club uses the remaining 50% of the profits from the tournament to support local charities in Clay County primarily.
