Our district continues to step up on our efforts to help Ukraine. This week we received approval of a grant with 6 other districts across the US to send $175,000 in critical medical supplies to areas that have received heavy casualties. At the Vibrant Club Seminar at St. Johns River State College-Palatka on Saturday August 20, DGE John Tabor will provide an update on what we have done and what is planned for the future. Make sure that you sign up for the seminar now and bring your friends! Registration will close on Sunday August 14, 2022.
Not to be outdone, Rotarians throughout the district continue to support those refugees who are arriving in our district on a daily basis. The Northeast Florida Rotary D6970 Humanitarian-Aid Committee recently collected school supplies.
This week we will begin the process of nominating our District Governor to serve the 2025/26 Rotary Year. Interviews will take place in early November 2022. If you know of a Rotarian that you think would provide great leadership, please reach out to your club president as all nominations must come from current club presidents. This year’s selection process is chaired by Past District Governor Cynde Covington.
This weekend we had our first Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) of the year with a dozen club presidents and many new trainers in attendance. The more we learn from each other, the more we can do for our communities.
Over seventy Rotarians from across the district participated in Saturday’s RLI. RLI Chair Mickey Ulmer and I want to congratulate each of you for making a commitment to improving your communities.
