WEEK 28 - JANUARY 8
January is Rotary International’s Vocational Service month. It is an opportunity for our Clubs to recognize outstanding individuals in the community who have excelled in their profession.
The Rotary Club of Palatka utilized a unique S-T-E-P program to recognize a student, teacher, employer and practitioner with an invitation to their club meeting and presentation of a plaque. It is also an opportunity to utilize your club Paul Harris points to award and recognize non-rotarians.
END POLIO NOW!
We finished 2017 with twenty-one identified cases of the Wild Polio Virus (WPV)...a 42% reduction from 2016 with 37 cases identified. There were 13 cases in Afghanistan and 8 cases in Pakistan.
The reduction in the number of identified cases is a direct reflection of your support and commitment to eradicate Polio.
Thank you so much for your efforts and support, but please remember we must remain vigilante pushing forward until we are down to zero.
Please keep the Johnson family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of Stephen Kerr Johnson, Rotary Club of Gainesville, passed away on December 29, 2017. He was so committed to Rotary that the Rotary Wheel was displayed in his obituary notice. Stephen always saw the best in people and this served him well as an attorney but it was simply who he was, eternally positive, generous and kind. He spent a lifetime helping people traverse their most challenging times has left a legacy that is family is truly proud of.
