WEEK 11 - SEPTEMBER 11
A CALL TO ACTION IN AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE IRMA
Within the past few hours Hurricane Irma's wrath has left D6970 behind and now it is time to assess the needs of our Rotarians. I would like to have a "coordinated effort" to determine the best course of action for the members in the District. I am asking each of you to contact the members of your clubs to assess their needs into THREE categories.
- CRITICAL - in need of medical assistance, displaced from their home, severe damage to their home
- MODERATE - loss of power or water, shortage of food, downed trees, some damage to their homes
- LOW - inconvenienced, sporadic loss of power, minimal disruption
Please forward ONLY the critical needs of your members to your respective Area Governors.
After receiving the critical needs of your members our Area Governors will forward them to Pat Mulvihill - District Disaster Coordinator. So, instead of having several hundred or thousand people contacting Pat directly, we will have only the Area Governors.
I will ask our College of Governors, DGE and DGN to send their request to me and I will forward to Pat.
As we move forward over the next several days we can set the appropriate response teams to handle each of the requests. After we assess and address the needs of the Rotarians in D6970, we will begin assisting those in our communities
